Stariji su nas nau\u010dili o \u201cciganima\u201d kao nekoj grupi ljudi s druga\u010dijom kulturom od \u201cna\u0161e\u201d, zbog \u010dega ih vidimo kao vanjske. Ali za\u0161to takvo odstupanje od ve\u0107ine postoji? Kao prvo, za\u0161to je te\u017ee postati dio grupe ako si druga\u010diji?<\/p>\n<p>Glavna ideja ove radionice je pokazati mladima kako na\u0161 mozak djeluje i tjerati ih na razmi\u0161ljanje, za\u0161to nam je uobi\u010dajeno razmi\u0161ljanje, koje je nepo\u0161teno prema ostalima. Neka djelovanja su sasvim evolucijska ali ako smo ih svjesni, mo\u017eemo promijeniti na\u0161e pona\u0161anje.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>TEME:<\/h5>\n<p>isklju\u010divanje, identitet, stereotipi, predrasude, diskriminacija<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>VELI\u010cINA GRUPA:<\/h5>\n<p> 9 \u2013 40 sudionika<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>TRAJANJE:<\/h5>\n<p>60 minuta<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>PREGLED:<\/h5>\n<p>Obja\u0161njenje o formiranju grupa biti \u0107e pru\u017eeno pomo\u0107u koncepta sli\u010dnosti. Znanost pokazuje da ljudska bi\u0107a naginju grupiranju sa sli\u010dnim vr\u0161njacima zbog privla\u010dnosti, jednostavnosti i sigurnosti. S druge strane isklju\u010divanje izaziva fizi\u010dnu bol ali ljudi jo\u0161 uvijek trebaju ne\u0161to \u0161to ih razlikuje od ostalih. Sljede\u0107e, da poku\u0161aju na\u0107i drugu osobu sa jednakim karakteristikama.<\/li>\n<li> Pri\u010dajte o zbivanju. Jesu li imali pote\u0161ko\u0107a s opisivanjem sebe? Jesu li imali pote\u0161ko\u0107a s raspore\u0111ivanjem u karakteristike drugih osoba? Za\u0161to?<\/li>\n<li> Kad su jednom grupe formirane, zamoli se ih da reflektiraju i zapi\u0161u slu\u010daj, kada su te karakteristike bile razlog za isklju\u010denje ili prihva\u0107enje.<\/li>\n<li> Grupe neka predstave doga\u0111aje. Bitno je obratiti pa\u017enju da podijele svoja osje\u0107anja kod opisuju situacije.<\/li>\n<li> Sa\u017emite rezultate i pru\u017eajte teoretsku pozadinu za djelovanja, koja poduprite s poznatim sociolo\u0161ko-psiholo\u0161kim eksperimentima.<\/li>\n<li> Pri\u010dajte o primjeni na svakodnevni \u017eivot i situacije s romskim zajednicama.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>IZVJE\u0160TAJ I EVALUACIJA:<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Za\u0161to razlike ne mogu biti uklju\u010dene? Kriti\u010dno evaluirajte.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>SAVJETI ZA FACILITATORE:<\/h5>\n<p>Obja\u0161njavanje psiholo\u0161kog kroz koncept sli\u010dnosti treba razbiti u tri kategorije:<\/p>\n<p>Sli\u010dnosti se privla\u010de zbog potvrde na\u0161ih uvjerenja, uzajamne naklonosti, nesmetane interakcije i odbijanja nejednakosti. <\/p>\n<p>Sli\u010dnosti su jednostavne \u2013 one doprinose organiziranosti svijeta, dru\u0161tvenom kategoriziranju i odgovor su na na\u0161u potrebu po pripadanju. Pozadinski procesi u mozgu su stereotipi, koji se mogu razviti u predrasude i u krajnjoj instanciji diskriminaciju.<\/p>\n<p>Sli\u010dnosti su sigurne &#8211; za\u0161to radimo to \u0161to radimo ako \u0107emo u svakom slu\u010daju umrijeti? Besmrtni postajemo pripisivanjem kulturnim stavovima. Elderly thought us about \u201cGypsies\u201d as some groups of people with different culture than \u201cour\u2019s\u201d, causing to see them as out-groups. But why does this deviation from majority exists? In the first place, why is it more difficult to become a part of the group, if you are different?\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>The main idea of this workshop is to show young people how our brain work and make them cto consider why we tend to think the way that is unfair to others. As some of the actions are purely evolutional, being aware of it can alternate our behaviour.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<h5>THEME:<\/h5><p>exclusion, identity, stereotypes, prejudice, discrimination<\/p>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<h5>GROUP SIZE:<\/h5> 9 \u2013 40 participants<\/p>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<h5>TIME:<\/h5><p>60 minutes<\/p>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<h5>OVERVIEW:<\/h5><p>Explanation on group formation will be provided through concept of similarity. Following science, human being tends towards group formatting with similar peers due to attractiveness, easiness and safety. On the other side, being excluded causes physical pain, but the people still need something to distinguish themselves. Understanding of psychological processes will enhance capacity to understand, tolerate and support diversity.<\/p>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<h5>RELATED RIGHTS:<\/h5>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>No discrimination<\/li>\r\n<li>Equality<\/li>\r\n<li>Freedom<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<h5>OBJECTIVES:<\/h5>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>To understand psychological processes that cause exclusion and tendency towards similarity<\/li>\r\n<li>To understand the differences between biological mechanisms and individual constructs of group formation<\/li>\r\n<li>To avoid the biased differentiation, segregation and discrimination<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<h5>MATERIALS<\/h5>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Markers<\/li>\r\n<li>Flipchart<\/li>\r\n<li>Post-it papers<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<h5>PREPARATION<\/h5>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Prepare the chairs and papers in a spacy classroom<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<h5>INSTRUCTIONS<\/h5>\r\n<ol>\r\n<li> Distribute the empty post-stickers and ask participants to write one of their personal characteristics on the paper. Next, they should try to find the other participant with the same written characteristic.<\/li>\r\n<li> Pick-up 3 to 5 persons with the most interesting characteristic and write the words on the flipchart. Ask other participants to ascribe themselves into one of these categories by standing in group with the chosen person.<\/li>\r\n<li> Reflect on the happening. Did they have difficulties in describing themselves? Did they have difficulties ascribing to the characteristic of another person? Why so?<\/li>\r\n<li> Once the groups are formed, ask them to reflect and write down a case, when their same characteristic was a reason for exclusion or acceptance.<\/li>\r\n<li> Groups should present the cases. Make sure they share how they felt during the situation they are describing.<\/li>\r\n<li> Summarize the outcomes and provide the theoretical background for the actions, supported by famous socio-psychological experiments.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li> Discuss the applications on a real-life environment and situations with Roma communities.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<h5>DEBRIEFING AND EVALUATION<\/h5>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Why different cannot be included? Demonstrate background knowledge on psychological processes.<\/li>\r\n<li>How bad is to be excluded? Provide example of negative practice and its effects.<\/li>\r\n<li>What can be done to be included? Provide the example of a good practice.<\/li>\r\n<li>Does it work? Critically evaluate it.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<h5>TIPS FOR FACILITATORS<\/h5>\r\n<p>Explaining psychological through concept of similarity should be broken to three categories:<\/p>\r\n<p>Similarities are attractive due to validation of our beliefs, mutual liking, smooth interaction and dissimilarity repulsion.<\/p>\r\n<p>Similarities are easy \u2013 they contribute to the organisation of our world, social categorisation and are the answer to our need of belong. Underlying brain processes are stereotypes that can evolve to prejudices and ultimately discrimination.<\/p>\r\n<p>Similarities are safe \u2013 why we do what we do, if we are going to die anyway? We become immortal by ascribing to a cultural view. Lack of complementation with cultural view may result in existential anxiety, as alternate views might suggest we are wrong.<\/p>\r\n<p>Belonging is a primary instinct \u2013 exclusion triggers brain\u2019s areas for physical pain.<\/p>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<h5>SUGGESTIONS FOR FOLLOW-UP:<\/h5>\r\n<p>Encourage the group to further explore the underlying biological and societal processes that make them think the way they do.<\/p>\r\n\u00a0\r\n<h5>FURTHER INFORMATION:<\/h5>\r\n<p>Ostracism; A Scientific look at shunning & the effects on those ostracised.
